Dr G. A. Rathy

Dr G. A. Rathy, is working as Professor in the Department of Electrical Electronics and Communication Engineering, NITTTR, Chennai since 1998. Her area of Specialization is Power Electronics and Drives and she has organized more than 250 Faculty Development Programmes for Technical Teachers of the southern region of India. Apart from the core Engineering, she has expertise in the areas of curriculum development and curriculum evaluation. She designed, developed and evaluated the Power Electronics Engineering curriculum using Criterion Referenced Test and Revised Blooms Taxonomy. She effectively contributed as resource person in more than 15 International Overseas Teachers Courses and organized more than 5 International Overseas Teachers Courses. She specially designed skill oriented programmes for Electrical Engineering discipline such as PLC and SCADA, Power Electronics, PCB design, Industrial Automation, Electrical CAD, Special Electrical machines, IoT and Electric Vehicle Technology. She developed Power Electronics and Special Machines Lab, Industrial Automation Lab and Electrical Simulation lab. She has published more than 25 articles in National/International journals/conferences. She has published a book on LabVIEW Programming Concepts with Examples, in Sci-Tech publications in 2015. She successfully completed four MHRD sponsored projects worth Rupees 30 lakhs and modernized the department infrastructure. She is motivated towards the curriculum evaluation of various Engineering curriculum with latest pedagogical methods. She is now involved in the research area of developing and analyzing skill oriented Industry Inclined curriculum
