Dr. Deepa S Sajjanar; Professor, Department of Biochemistry BLDEU Shri B M Patil Medical College Hospital and Research Centre; Vijayapura. Completed MBBS (2005) from Mahadevappa Rampure Medical College, Kalburgi,MD Biochemistry (2011) from Jagadguru Jayadeva Muruga Rajendra Medical College. Davanagere and a PGDCND fellow in 2014. Dr.Deepa Sajjanar has her research interest in investigating the interplay of Nutrition, Health, Chronic lifestyle diseases and Inflammation. Completed her PhD-Biochemistry from BLDE (DU) with her work on “Dietary inflammatory index of north Karnataka food pattern and its association with Coronary Artery Diseases”. She has numerous original research articles on the same and also has been a guide and co-guide for many research studies by Under Graduates and Post Graduates. She has a teaching experience of over 15 years for UG and PG. As an active Member of medical education unit with Advanced Course in Medical Education (ACME - 2019), the author has always believed in the power of innovative teaching methodologies like mind-mapping, concept mapping and problem(clinical case) based learning in reinforcing the basic concepts and help make the biochemistry of life sciences interesting to the young minds. The efforts were also published as original articles in national and international journals and also reflected as book chapter about the teaching learning methodologies and their effectiveness.
