The alveolar ridge primarily supports natural dentition and environ the oral cavity proper together with teeth, palate and tongue. The alveolar ridge plays an important role in oral function, including mastication, bolus formation and speech. After the tooth loss, particularly in edentulous and semi-dentulous patients, the alveolar ridge plays a pivotal role in supporting dental prosthesis. The height and width of the alveolar ridge is crucial for the stability of removable dentures and installation of dental implants. In the case of dental implant restoration, the alveolar ridge directly supports the implant body via functional connections, termed osseointegration. The vertical and horizontal volume of the alveolar ridge restricts the size and angle of dental implantinstallation; thus, maintaining sufficient alveolar ridge volume is vital for successful implant-supported dental prostheses.

Dr. Supratik Roy

Dr. Supratik Roy completed his BDS in 2020 from Maitri College of Dentistry and Research Centre, Durg, Chhattisgarh. After that he established a clinic named Perfect Dental Care, Contai, West Bengal. Currently he is pursuing his Post graduation in Department of Periodontology and Implantology from Hazaribag college of Dental Sciences and Hospital. He has presented several scientific paper and poster in various state and national level conferences. He also published several articles in reputed journals.

Dr. Shekhar Prashant

Dr. Shekhar Prashant and alumni of Bharti Vidyapeeth Dental College completed his BDS in the year 2006. He completed his MDS in Periodontology and Implantology from prestigious Bharti Vidyapeeth Dental College. A passionate dentist always behind latest technology and equipments. After completion of his MDS he joined Hazaribag College of Dental Sciences and Hospital. He is presently attached with the same institution as Professor and Head of the Department of Periodontology. Having conducted various Graduate and Post-Graduate exams as external and internal. Dr Shekhar has published various research work in national, international and PubMed journals. Dr Shekhar is also active in numerous social works along with Rotary Club, Bettiah in his capacity.

Dr. Dhritiman Baidya

Dr. Dhirtiman Baidya completed his B.D.S in the year 2012. from Guru Nanak Institute of Dental Science and Research. After that he worked as a resident in prestigious Dr. RG. Kar Govt. Medical College and Hospital. He completed his M.D.5 in Periodontology and Implantology from Racific Dental College and Hospital in the year 2017. He has presented various papers and posters in both national and international conferences. He was awarded as a winner in Oral-B "Write to Fame competition jointly organised by International Academy of Periodontology. After M.DS he worked as faculty teaching both Under-Graduate and Post-Graduate curriculums in various Dental Colleges in India Presently he is attached with Hazaribag College of Dental Sciences and Hospital as Associate Professor in the Department of Periodontology Having conducted various Under Graduate exams as external and internal. Dr. Dhirtiman has published various research work in national, international and PubMed joumals.
