Prof. (Dr.) Rekha R. Mudhol

• Qualification and Experience:She is a Professor and Head of the Department of Ophthalmology at BLDE Deemed to be University's Shri B M Patil Medical College, Vijayapura and holds an M.B.B.S., DOMS, M.S. in Ophthalmology (Gold Medalist), and a Ph.D. in Medicine. She has 31 years of experience as a teaching faculty. Specialization in glaucoma, oculoplastic, and cataract surgery, and has held various academic positions and guided thirty-three MS and three MPH dissertations.

• Publications:50 publications in local, national, and international journals, with the majority of the publications focusing on glaucoma and its surgical interventions, with a special emphasis on newer techniques such as the use of sub tenon mitomycin C, amniotic membrane transplantation, and cross-linked hyaluronic acid viscoelastic scleral implant in trabeculectomy. She received a certificate of merit for her publication titled “Cross-linked hyaluronic acid viscoelastic scleral implant in trabeculectomy” in the Indian Journal of Ophthalmology in May 2021, and it was also judged as one of the best publications.
She is a reviewer for the Journal of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Indian Journal of Ophthalmology, Indian Journal of Health Science, and International Journal of Current Research in Optometry and Ophthalmology.
