Dr. Palak Borade

Dr. Palak Borade, a Gold Medalist in her UG , is currently advancing her expertise as an MDS candidate in Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology and Oral Microbiology at the Government College of Dentistry, Indore. She is the author of the book "Oral Cancer: An Insight to Early Detection,"which offers comprehensive insights into early diagnostic techniques for oral cancer. Her research focuses extensively on oral cancer, with a notable study on Maspin expression in oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) Dr. Borade has widely published her work in esteemed journals and has presented her research on both national and international platforms. She has been recognized for her presentations, including accolades at a national conference in Dehradun. Additionally, she is working on a clinical manual that covers essential techniques in oral pathology, such as microscopy, fixatives, special stains, and salivaomics. Beyond her scientific accomplishments, Dr. Borade is a talented writer, poet, and artist, skillfully blending her creative talents with her scientific expertise. Her passion for debate and critical thinking further enhances her ability to communicate complex ideas effectively, making her a respected voice in both the academic and creative communities.

Dr. Jaya Joshi

Dr Jaya Joshi, Professor & Head, Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Pathology & Oral Microbiology at Govt College of Dentistry Indore has been into academics since the last 20 years with UG and PG teaching and guidance. With a strong concept of her specialty, her passion lies in Research related to Oral Premalignant Condition, Molecular aspect of Oral Cancer, Tobacco induced Oxidative stress etc. She introduced Research Cell Unit at her institute and has been steadily working to improving its infrastructure. She played a key role in the drafting, constitution, and registration of Institutional Ethics Committee, Government College of Dentistry, Indore, and has served as its Member Secretary for the past nine years. She has made remarkable contributions in the clinical and academic development of her department. She pioneered the establishment of the first-ever NACO-registered Facilitated Integrated Centre for HIV Testing and Counseling at a dental institute in the country. She also set up a Clinical Oral Pathology Laboratory to serve patients. . Dr Joshi is credited with establishing the Tobacco Cessation Centre and laying the foundation of Forensic Odontology Unit here. She drafted the Fellowship Coursework in Forensic Odontology and is working towards its launch. She has held significant academic positions in the past, including Chairperson, Board of Studies, Madhya Pradesh Medical Science University, Jabalpur and Chairman (Dental) Board of Studies, DAVV, Indore.. To her credit lie multiple research publications in reputed national and international journals. She looks forward to establish Regional Oral Cancer Detection and Research Centre in Indore
