Mr. Alok L. Gude

Mr. Alok L. Gude is an Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Botany at St. Xavier’s College (Empowered Autonomous Institute), Mumbai 400001, with over 20 years of teaching experience. He holds an M.Sc. in Botany from Nagpur University and has qualified the CSIR-UGC NET in Life Sciences. His academic career spans teaching roles at Hislop College, Nagpur, and Wilson College, Mumbai. He has contributed to curriculum development as a member and Vice-Chancellor’s nominee of the Board of Studies in Botany at various colleges, and as Chairman of the Board of Studies in Botany at St. Xavier’s College. He has also served as an external examiner, paper setter, and moderator for B.Sc. and M.Sc. Botany programs under the University of Mumbai. He has authored many research papers and book chapters on various topics in Botany. He has co-authored the book Bharat Ke Mahan Vaigyanik (2024), published by the Maharashtra Rajya Hindi Sahityik Academy, which reflects his interest in promoting science through literature. In addition to his institutional responsibilities, he has extended his expertise beyond his own college by voluntarily conducting laboratory experiments for postgraduate Botany students at Dr. A.R. Undre Women’s College, Borli Panchatan, Raigad.

Dr. Pawan Laxmikant Deshmukh

Dr. Pawan Laxmikant Deshmukh is currently working as an Assistant Professor and Head in Biotechnology at Badrinarayan Barwale Mahavidyalaya, Jalna District Jalna, Maharashtra State. He has total teaching experience of 18 years at PG and UG level. He has completed his M.Sc. in Biotechnology and in Botany from Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. He has completed his Ph.D. from Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. He has also qualified GATE and ICAR- NET examinations. To his credit he has 11 research papers in UGC CARE list. He also has 01 patent publication and one copyright to his credit. He has vast experience in the field of Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Molecular Systematics, Ecology, Microbiology, Recombinant DNA technology, Plant Tissue Culture and Bioinformatics. Apart from academic work, he has been engaged in administrative work also. At institute level, he is being working as a Chairman of health committee, secretory of Alumni asoociation and member of various other committees. Dr. Pawan Laxmikant Deshmukh worked as a President of Lions Club of Jalna Merchants City for year 2023/24 and 2024/25 and secretory for the year 2022/23. During his Lionistic year as a President and secretory he was awarded as Best President of the Year 2023/24 and 2024/25 and Best secretory for the year 2022/23 at region and District Level.

Mr. Sudhir Buddhasen Sharma

Mr. Sudhir Buddhasen Sharma

Mr. Sudhir Buddhasen Sharma is currently serving as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Botany at Sonopant Dandekar Arts, V.S. Apte Commerce, and M.H. Mehta Science College, Palghar, Maharashtra. He has over five years of teaching experience at the postgraduate level and holds an M.Sc. degree from St. Xavier’s College (Autonomous), Mumbai in Plant Taxonomy and Phytochemistry. Mr. Sharma has authored six research papers focusing on the study of medicinal plants and their derived products. His areas of expertise include Plant Taxonomy, Ethnobotany, Palynology, Mangrove Conservation, and Biodiversity Studies. In addition, he has served for four years as a Tree Officer, during which he conducted extensive tree census projects. He also has 02 patent publication to his credit. A passionate environmental advocate, he has delivered numerous speeches on mangrove conservation, biodiversity preservation, and ecological awareness across diverse platforms. Possessing in-depth knowledge of Ayurvedic medicine, he has been practicing and formulating traditional remedies for many years. Through innovative applications and formulations of medicinal plants, he has successfully treated numerous patients suffering from arthritis-related pain and swelling, high and low blood pressure, various skin diseases, Nephrolithiasis (kidney stones), cholelithiasis (gallstones), Vesical calculi (bladder stones), ureteral stones, and diabetes. Mr. Sharma is presently pursuing his Ph.D. at the University of Mumbai under the guidance of Principal Prof. Dr. Gogari PankajKumar Kalyanji, N.B. Mehta, Science College, Bordi, Tal. Dahanu , District – Palghar.

Dr. Kalpit Ganesh Mhatre

Dr. Kalpit Ganesh Mhatre is currently working as an assistant professor in botany at New Education Society's Shriram Kusumtai Sadashiv Vanjare College, Lanja District Ratnagiri, Maharashtra State. He has total teaching experience of 10 years at UG level. He has completed his Ph.D. from St. Xavier's College (Autonomous), Mumbai. He is the author of 07 books and editor of 19 books. To his credit he has 21 research papers in UGC CARE list and has written 57 chapters in various books. He also has 03 patent publication to his credit. He has vast experience in the field of Plant Taxonomy, Ethnobotany, Molecular Systematics, Ecology and Anthropology. Apart from academic work, he has been engaged in administrative work also. At institute level, he is being working as a Nodal Officer for various schemes such as Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA), All India Survey on Higher Education (AISHE), National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF), Kalam Program for IP Literacy and Awareness (KAPILA) and Atal Ranking of Institution on Innovation Achievements (ARIIA). Dr. Mhatre is a President of Institutional Innovation Council (IIC). He has been designated as a District Sustainability Mentor (DSM) for Ratnagiri District by Mahatma Gandhi National Council of Rural Education, Ministry of Education, Government of India, Hyderabad.
