Dr. Prakash Sigedar
Dr. Prakash Sigedar is a distinguished orthopedic surgeon, academician, researcher, medical
author, and healthcare leader with more than three decades of dedicated clinical experience in
orthopedic surgery. Based in Jalna, Maharashtra, India, he has devoted his professional life to
improving musculoskeletal health through compassionate patient care, medical education,
research, and community service.
After completing his MBBS from Government Medical College, Ambajogai, he obtained his
post graduation in Orthopedics and further enhanced his leadership and management skills by
earning an MBA in Human Resource Management. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. at the
Maharashtra University of Health Sciences (MUHS), Nashik, with research focusing on
locomotor disability, rehabilitation, and quality of life among children with disabilities.
Throughout his career, Dr. Sigedar has successfully managed thousands of patients with
fractures, joint disorders, spinal conditions, osteoporosis, trauma, sports injuries, and
degenerative musculoskeletal diseases. His special areas of interest include geriatric orthopedics,
osteoporosis, fragility fractures, disability assessment and rehabilitation, patient-centered
communication, operation theater safety, preventive orthopedics, and healthcare quality
improvement.
Recognizing the growing healthcare needs of an ageing population, Dr. Sigedar has dedicated
considerable effort to promoting comprehensive orthopedic care for older adults. He strongly
believes that successful treatment extends beyond surgery and encompasses prevention,
rehabilitation, nutrition, fall prevention, functional recovery, emotional well-being, and

practicing clinicians, and healthcare professionals.
Beyond clinical practice, Dr. Sigedar has played an active leadership role in professional
organizations. He has served as Honorary Secretary of the Maharashtra Orthopaedic Association
(MOA) and has been a member of the Executive Committee of the Indian Orthopaedic
Association (IOA). He currently serves as President of Aarogya Bharati, Devgiri Prant, and has
been entrusted with several important academic and organizational responsibilities at the state
and national levels.
