This philosophy forms the foundation of "Ortho Care for Elderly: 360 Degree Care for Geriatric Orthopedic Problems – Ensuring Mobility, Dignity and Longevity."
An accomplished medical writer, Dr. Sigedar has authored and edited numerous books covering orthopedic surgery, disability assessment, patient communication, operation theater protocols, medical ethics, and holistic healthcare. He has delivered numerous lectures, conducted educational workshops, contributed to scientific meetings, and mentored young orthopedic surgeons throughout his career. His teaching philosophy emphasizes ethical practice, lifelong learning, critical thinking, and compassionate patient care.
His vision of healthcare extends beyond treating disease. He advocates preventive medicine, healthy ageing, multidisciplinary collaboration, patient empowerment, and the integration of technology with human values. His guiding principle is simple yet profound: "Treat the person, not merely the disease; preserve mobility, protect dignity, and promote longevity."
Through this book, Dr. Prakash Sigedar hopes to inspire healthcare professionals to adopt a holistic, evidence-based, and patient-centered approach to geriatric orthopedic care, ensuring that every older adult can enjoy an active, independent, and dignified life.
