The term ‘LASER’ is an acronym produced by merging the first letters of the words: Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation. A laser device generates light energy through a process of optical amplification based on the principle of stimulated emission of electromagnetic radiation. They emit electromagnetic radiation along a spectrum of visible, ultraviolet, or infrared light.1 Lasers are regarded as a significant innovation that serves a variety of purposes. The different lasers that are used in dentistry are argon,3 carbon dioxide (CO2 ),4 neodymium aluminum garnet (Nd:YAG),5 or erbium yttrium garnet (Er:YAG), and diode lasers.6 Lasers have been used in the field of dentistry for treatment of both hard and soft tissue conditions like caries detection, cavity preparation, disinfection, pulp therapy procedures, sterilization, periodontal surgeries, etc.7
