Aconsiderable delay in the development of motor coordination that is unrelated to
general intellectual handicap or any specific congenital or acquired neurological
condition is what defines DCD. The most common mobility issues in children are
caused by the chronic illness known as developmental coordination deficit (1).
DCD is linked to a slew of musculoskeletal, cognitive, social, and psychiatric
disorders that impact negatively on daily life. These findings emphasize the
importance of getting the right help to enhance motor skills and everyday life (2).
The neurodevelopmental disorder referred to as Developmental Coordination
Disorder (DCD) that impacts everyday tasks and academic achievement by
impairing muscle coordination. DCD children are very often characterized as
"clumsy" and "uncoordinated." which can appearing in easily rectifiable
performance difficulties (3). The definition of "clumsiness" was first given by
Orton in 1937, but the literature did not begin to recognize its relevance until the
early 1960s (4). Since then, various words been employed to refer to children
whose motor challenges make daily life challenging (5), e.g., clumsy child
syndrome (6), perceptual motor dysfunction (7), developmental dyspraxia (8),
physical awkwardness (9), and sensory integrative dysfunction (10). Children
with attention, motor control, and perceptual deficiencies have been identified in
Scandinavian nations using the abbreviation deficits in attention motor control
and perception (DAMP) (11).
