Handwritten character identification is field of pattern recognition which determines an ability of a machine to analyze patterns and identify the character. Pattern recognition is the science of making assumptions from perceptual data based on either a prior knowledge or on statistical information. A pattern class is determined by some given familiar attributes. A pattern is the description of any member of a class representing a pattern class. The main function of pattern identification system is to find and retrieve familiar features from the patterns describing the objects that belong to the same pattern classes and to recognize the pattern and arrange it as a member of the pattern class under discussion

Dr. Vishweshwarayya C Hallur is an Associate Professor and Head of department of Master of Computer Applications at Angadi Institute of Technology and Managemnt, Belagavi, Karnataka, India. He received B.Sc. degree from Karanataka University, Dharawad in 2004, received M.C.A. degree from Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belagavi, Karnataka in 2007. He earned his Ph.D. in Computer Science from the Bharathiar University (NIRF-13), Coimbatore, Tamilnadu, India in January 2020. He has experience of over 12 years teaching under graduates and post graduates students with various capacities. He has filed a patent and published 12 research papers in peer reviewed international journals and also National and International conference proceedings. He has attended many workshops and Faculty Development Programs organized by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). He has attended Orientation Programs and short training programs organized by MHRD Govt. of India. He is a Life Member of Indian Society for Technical Education (LMISTE), BoS Member for BCA course at PC Jabin College (Autonomous) Hubli, BoS Member for B.Sc. Computer Science of Solapur University, Solapur and Member of advisory committee for one day national web conference on “Emerging Trends in Science, Technology and Smart Computing” at Willingdon College, Sangli, Maharastra. He organized National Level workshops and Faculty Development Programs. His area of interest are image processing, Data Analytics, Big Data. He is marathoner.
