Recent decades have seen a rise in the number of vocal and new wave writers from South Asia. When people think of such writers, the countries that come to mind are India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Nepal, Bhutan and Maldives. These writers always take up subjective representations in their works, that deal with culture, ethnicity, religion, history and other stances of their countries.
