Community involvement is increasingly recognized as a fundamental element in environmental conservation and sustainable development. Communities are not only the primary users of natural resources but also the first to experience the impacts of environmental degradation. Their daily interactions with land, water, forests, and biodiversity provide them with practical understanding of ecological processes. When communities actively participate in conservation initiatives, environmental management becomes more responsive, locally relevant, and socially acceptable, leading to long-term sustainability rather than short-lived interventions. Environmental conservation focuses on protecting ecosystems, conserving biodiversity, maintaining ecological balance, and ensuring the sustainable use of natural resources. Sustainable development expands this vision by integrating environmental protection with economic growth and social equity. Community involvement connects these two concepts by aligning conservation goals with livelihood needs, cultural values, and social priorities. Without community participation, conservation efforts often face resistance, poor compliance, or eventual failure due to lack of local support.
