The word diagnosis is came from two Greek words “dia”and'gnosis” which means “through” and “knowledge” respectively.1 So “to diagnose” means to gain thorough knowledge about the disease. An accurate and workable treatment plan is not something that just happens; it is the result of a carefully considered series of steps. It is impossible to create a successful treatment plan for a problem without combining and comparing the results of the two primary diagnostic steps—taking a patient's history and performing a clinical examination as part of the patient assessment procedure.
