Dr. Sharath Hullumani
Dr. Sharath Hullumani V., PT, PhD is an academician, clinician, researcher, educator, and innovator
in the field of pediatric and neonatal physiotherapy. He currently serves as Associate Professor and Head,
Department of Paediatrics and Neonatal Physiotherapy, and Vice Dean (Research & Development) at
Ravi Nair Physiotherapy College, Datta Meghe Institute of Higher Education & Research (Deemed to be
University), Wardha, Maharashtra, India.
Dr. Hullumani earned his Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Pediatric Physiotherapy from DMIHER
(DU), where his doctoral research focused on family-centered care, neonatal rehabilitation, and early
neurodevelopmental interventions. His work has significantly contributed to advancing evidence-based
pediatric rehabilitation through innovative models that actively involve families in the therapeutic process.
His academic and research interests include pediatric and neonatal physiotherapy,
neurodevelopmental rehabilitation, developmental coordination disorder, cerebral palsy, motor
learning, neuroplasticity, family-centered care, maternal and child health, community-based
rehabilitation, digital health, tele-rehabilitation, and artificial intelligence in rehabilitation. His long-
term vision is to integrate cutting-edge technology with compassionate, family-centered care to improve
rehabilitation outcomes, particularly in underserved and rural communities.
Dr. Hullumani has authored more than 130 peer-reviewed scientific publications in national and
international journals and has made substantial contributions to healthcare innovation through multiple
patents and copyrighted works. His research portfolio encompasses randomized controlled trials, systematic
reviews, clinical protocols, digital rehabilitation, implementation science, and translational research. He has
presented his work at numerous national and international scientific conferences and continues to collaborate
with multidisciplinary researchers worldwide. A passionate educator and mentor, Dr. Hullumani has guided
numerous undergraduate and postgraduate students, research scholars, and young investigators in scientific
writing, research methodology, dissertation development, and evidence-based clinical practice. He actively
contributes to curriculum development, academic leadership, research capacity building, and the promotion
of high-quality physiotherapy education.
Beyond academia and research, Dr. Hullumani is committed to humanitarian service and community
development. He is the founder of the Sharath Hullumani Foundation, an organization envisioned to
provide integrated support for vulnerable populations through compassionate, sustainable, and dignified care.
The Foundation aims to establish orphan care services, old-age care facilities, rehabilitation and
healthcare centres, education and vocational training programmes, and community outreach
initiatives that empower children, older adults, and individuals with disabilities. Guided by the principles of
compassion, innovation, dignity, and social responsibility, the Foundation aspires to bridge gaps in healthcare,
rehabilitation, education, and social welfare while fostering inclusive and healthier communities.
Dr. Hullumani also serves as a reviewer for several international peer-reviewed journals and actively
collaborates with clinicians, researchers, and institutions across the globe. His professional mission is to bridge
the gap between scientific discovery and clinical practice by integrating evidence-based rehabilitation,
family-centered care, digital technologies, artificial intelligence, and community-based healthcare into
everyday physiotherapy practice.
