Cosmic order across all dimensions is the main function of consciousness while nature tends to ever greater disorder in every way as per the second law of thermodynamics. This cosmic drama of the interplay between order and disorder is the saga of evolution of cosmos, of life, of species and of individuals as well. The laws of physics and of biology are therefore expected to share similarities beyond what has been unearthed so far. Much remains to be done in regard to the notion of self or selfhood as well as the niches and their dynamics and also the mapping out of the track of the evolution of an individual in response to the instinctive urges that propel it to actions and experiences which are uploaded into the vast repository of the cosmic mind so that the individual works out its part by taking up such appurtenances as are necessary, all in the cosmic scheme of purposive evolution.
