Life evolved first in sea water. The primitive unicellular animal took in oxygen and nutrition from the ocean and excreted its waste products into it. But with the development of multicellular forms, this simple arrangement of drainage and supply could no longer hold true. The cells in the deeper parts of the body could not come into free contact with surrounding sea water, and could freely flow in and out; in this way the deeper cells could satisfy their needs. This channel system represents the primitive circulatory system and, it is obvious that in its original form, this system was an open one.

DR. PAVAN KUMAR GUJJAR completed graduation from SDM Dental College and hospital, Dharwad in the year 2006 and has completed his Post Graduation in Oral Pathology and microbiology from DY Patil School of Dentistry in the year 2012. He has 10 plus year of teaching experience. He had guided several graduates and postgraduates in his career. Have several international and national publications under his credit. Currently he is working as a Professor and HOD, Department of Oral pathology and microbiology, Yogita Dental College and Hospital, Khed, Maharashtra.

Dr. Treville Pereira

Dr. Treville Pereira completed his graduation from Nair Hospital Dental College and went on to do his Post graduation from the Government Dental College in the subject of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology. He has about 28 years of clinical experience and 24 years of teaching experience. He has guided many undergraduate, post graduate and PhD students for various national conferences. He has authored about 130 publications both in National and International journals. He is also a reviewer for numerous National journals including the Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology. He is also an executive committee member of the Indian association of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathologists. He is presently working as Vice Dean and Professor and Head, Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology at D Y Patil University, School of Dentistry, Nerul, Navi Mumbai.
