Biomimetic materials have evolved over the past decade by the use of relatively specialized technology that applies the science behind mimicry of biological tissues for expanded use in restorative dentistry. Biomimetics is the study of natural structural processes to try to mimic or replicate artificially in an attempt to restore the same aesthetics or function. Biomimetics is thus defined as the study of the formation, structure, or function of biologically produced substances and materials and biological mechanisms and processes especially for the purpose of synthesizing similar products by artificial mechanisms which mimic natural ones.[1]

Dr. Sneha Ramling Mali completed her graduation in Rural Dental College, Pravara Institute of medical Sciences deemed to be university, Loni and postgraduation From School of Dental Sciences, Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences Deemed to be University, Karad. Currently she is working as Senior lecturer in department of Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics, School of Dental Sciences, Karad since 2018. She also holds PG Diploma in Medico Legal Systems, Law and ethics. Currently perusing degree of Law. She has many national and international publications to her credit.

Dr. T.M. Mangala

Dr. T.M. Mangala is Professor and Head, Department of Conservative dentistry and Endodontics, School of Dental sciences, Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences Deemed to be University (KIMSDU), Karad, Maharashtra, India. She completed her BDS in April 1985 and MDS in April 1991 f rom Bapuji Dental College, Davangere, Mysore university. Apart from regular Endodontics, she has great interests in the field of Aesthetic dentistry..She has been an active teacher since then and teaches both undergraduate and post graduate students in Conservative dentistry and endodontics. She has many research publications in various National and International journals till date.. She has a particular interest in research and has been conducting many research projects at her institution and has guided a lot of students in conducting research projects and develops research aptitude to improve the overall understanding of the subject. She adopts to maintain discipline and overall improvement of the students.
