The anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) is the most commonly injured ligament in
the knee (1).The incidence of ACL tears singly is estimated to be 30 per 100,000
people in the Western population in a year (2),(3). Injury is defined as damage to
the tissue caused by an force acting on the body externally (4). With 60% of
injuries to the knee and ankle joints, sports have one of the highest injury rates (5).
Specifically, the Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) is the most frequent injury in
sports. Severe knee injuries called ACLs typically happen once the knee is bent
when landing and twisting (6). Further, most ACL injuries are caused by noncontact accidents, accounting for 37.5%–85% of all ACL injuries. Changes in
movement patterns are connected to the non-contact mechanism (7),(8). The
overall annual incidence of ACL tears was found to be 68.6 per 100,000 people
(9). In a north Indian epidemiological study (10)
