Academic Anxiety among Secondary School Students
The present book entitled, “Academic Anxiety Among Secondary School
Students” is a research work carried out by Dr. Atieq Ul Rehman. He approached
me to express my experts’ opinion about the present book which is based on an
empirical study of personal, familial & institutional factors of academic anxiety
among senior secondary school students. I have gone through the work deeply
especially the process of selection of the problem, methodology adopted and
its possible implications for research and education. After considering different
aspects and intricacies of the work, I can write it with full confidence that
research work is excellent and relevant to the present need. The researcher is
absolutely right in remarking that at senior secondary stage of education, it is
mandatory for students to choose different streams (science & non-science).
Different streams lead to different career opportunities in forthcoming years
of their life. If nature of the subjects does not suit the interest of the learners,
students may suffer more from severe academic anxiety at this stage of education.
