Ÿ The female breast or mammary gland is an exocrine gland which when fully developed is composed of ¹⁵-²⁰ lobes. Ÿ These are separated by connective tissue. Ÿ Lot of fat tissue within the breast gives it soft consistency. Ÿ The special gland in the breast are called tuboalveolar gland. Ÿ Each gland end in lactiferous duct and opens through a nipple. Ÿ Cells which are important in contraction are myoepithelial cells.
