Dr Parshuram Sial

Dr Parshuram Sial was born in Bhadrak district of Odisha. He completed B.Sc(Ag) in the year 1994 and M.Sc(Ag) Plant Breeding & Genetics in the Year 1997 from Odisha University of Agriculture and Technology, Bhubaneswar. He had completed PhD in Genetics and Plant Breeding from G. B. Pant University of Agriculture and technology, Pantnagar in the year 2003. He worked in Teaching in Agriculture Biotechnology for 1.9 years, extension in KVKs of Odisha for 2 years and Research in cotton for 2.6 years, rice for 6 years, mustard in Ph.D research, chickpea in M.Ag(PBG) research and spices breeding from 13.07.2012 till date since 2003 under Odisha University of Agriculture and Technology. He has published 15 books, 28 research papers, 15 booklets in spices and 4 spices cultivation videos for farmers. He has developed 8 rice, 6 ginger, 5 turmeric, one black turmeric, one mustard and one mango ginger varieties till date. He received Best AICRP award in 2018, Best Plant Breeder Award on NUTRIENT-2025, Outstanding Research output Award 2025 in 1st international conference, Dr K.V.Peter Gold Medal memorial Award-2025 at Global conference from 20.06.25 to 21.06.25 , Dr B.P.Pal Memorial Award-2025 in 1 st international conference from 25.04.25 to 27.04.25 and Best Seed and QPM Production unit Award on 24.08.25 from Governor of Odisha . He is now working as Breeder (Spices), AICRP on Spices, High Altitude Research station, OUAT, Pottangi and Associate Director of Research at Regional Research & Technology Transfer Station, Semiliguda, Koraput, Odisha.
