He is currently working as Dean and Professor at School of Pharmacy, ARKA JAIN University, Jharkhand. He has more than 20 years of Academic and Industry Experience. Dr. Sahoo is the life member of APTI, IHPA, IPA, Inpharm Association and OCS. He has won Best Research award from Indian Drugs in 2016; achieved the second runners up award ICMR sponsored national seminar, School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Siksha 'O' Anusandhan University, Bhubaneswar in 2017; received the “Sri Jaydev Medha Puraskar in 2017 from Ashavani Foundation Trust, Sri Jaydev College of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Bhubaneswar and felicitated as a potential reviewer by Indian Drug Manufacturers' Association for the journal Indian Drugs in 2018. He has 48 research and review publications to his credit in journals of national and international repute. His area of interest is Exploration of Synthetic and Non-synthetic antimicrobials and their in vitro investigation.
