Pain is considered to be a human primate character and can be defined as a
distressing sensation, as well as an emotional experience that is linked to actual or
potential tissue damage, with the sole purpose of notifying the body's defence
mechanism to react towards a stimulus in order to avoid further tissue damages.1 Pain is a
multidimensional sensory experience that is fundamentally unlikable and coupled with
soreness and discomfort.2 It is a highly personal experience that is communed by verbal
signals and facial expressions. Goldscheider'in 1881 proposed the existence of two 'pain'
theory that is now universally recognized in recent times. 'First pain' or 'pin-prick'
sensation is quickly conducted to consciousness and is restricted to a single area, and
does not survive the aggravating stimulus; whether or not it is called 'painful' by any given
subject depends on the cultural and personal background of the individual. 'Second pain'
is slowly conducted, poorly localized, and survives the obvious aggravating stimulus.
