Over the past few decades, economic growth in tribal communities
has been significant. In huge percentages, infrastructure in native
villages has improved, access to education has grown, and
unemployment has decreased. Tribal economic development in India,
however, continues to lag well behind that of the country's general
population. Tribal governments must collaborate with the central
government on tribal economy programmes if they want to see
continuous economic growth in tribal communities and an increase in
the quality of life for their residents. In addition to lobbying for tribe-led
initiatives to build the economy from the ground up, tribal leaders can
push for additional support from the central government. By doing
this, tribal economic development can benefit f rom ongoing
advancements in access to high-quality education, better housing
and living conditions, more favourable employment prospects, and
more robust inf rastructure, such as roads, water, power, and
telecommunications
