The book has five sections, Introduction, Review of the Literature, Methodology, Results and Discussion and Conclusion. The Introduction, deals with the issues related women empowerment including its historical developments, brief outline of history and development of MGNREGA in India and Andhra Pradesh State. The second section is Review Literature. It highlights empirical findings based on the earlier of studies related to the implementation of MGNREGA in India as well as in state of Andhra Pradesh. Which are related to inclusive growth, empowerment of women, poverty alleviation and employment generation. The Methodology, demonstrates about the objectives, hypotheses, brief profile of the area, book designs, sample frame, size and selection, collection of data and related aspects, its analysis of data and limitations. In the fourth section deals with Results and Discussion. It is presented in five sub-sections based on the analysis of data and results. Section 4.1 deals with the Background Characteristics of the Sample Respondents. And also throws light on information on housing and household facilities and possession of households goods. 4.2 highlights the details of respondents’ role and participation in MGNREGA works viz., sources of MGNREGA, information about getting job cards and problems, selected aspects related to MGNREGA work, distance of work site and particulars about travelling allowance, number of days worked and wages received, facilities provided at work sites, etc. Section 4.3 focuses on the Economic Impact of MGNREGA. This is done taking into consideration of three economic indicators viz., annual family income, annual family expenditure and the amount of debt, before and after joining MGNREGA. Attempt is also made in this section to examine the impact of MGNREGA on the possession of selected household goods. All these have been done making use of averages / percentages and paired t-test of significance. Section 4.4 and 4.5 concentrate on the Problems in MGNREGA and Constraints in Women Empowerment. All these aspects have been examined across their gender background with suitable statistics and tests of significance. Final section, Conclusions and Implications – of the book provides summary of the findings of the work followed by major conclusions drawn along with few implications for improving the various aspects of MGNREGA and thereby, the working conditions of the beneficiaries.
